Abstract
Irene Kung invites us to join her in a secret garden populated by 40 different marvelous and enchanted trees, that tower upwards with their trunks, creating magic vaults with their branches and leaves, enchanting with their display of flowers or with the gift of their ripe fruit.

Page after page, Irene Kung’s splendid images feature olive trees from the Mediterranean tradition, exotic cacti, snow covered trees, pomegranates and peach trees and willows shaken by the wind alternate like the seasons and are imprinted into our minds like the silent, magnificent, familiar and mysterious inhabitants of our land. Giovanna Calvenzi wrote in the introduction, “the trees are not simply magnolias, oaks, palms, olive trees, sycamores or apple trees: transfigured by the artist’s vision, each of them becomes the very idea of the tree, eternal, immutable and incorruptible. Irene Kung’s photography transforms the tree into a dream and the dream into an idea, solitary and powerful at the same time”.
